INFORMATION

Description

A Biological solution for the protection and the suppression of Botrytisa nd Eutypa

A Trichoderma atroviride strain 77B wettable powder formulation.

This product is the organic gardener’s best friend, using a naturally occurring beneficial fungus to protect plant surfaces and prevent destructive fungal pathogens. It features a strain specifically isolated from above-ground plant tissue in South Africa, making it better adapted to local conditions and far more persistent on plant surfaces than standard bio-fungicides.

Mode of Action

The fungal spores in Eco-77® germinate and rapidly colonize plant surfaces. By occupying these entry points, Trichoderma atroviride creates a biological barrier that outcompetes plant-pathogenic fungi (such as Botrytis cinerea and Eutypa) for nutrients and physical space, while also inducing systemic resistance in the plant to prevent pathogen entry.

Use of beneficial organisms

Introducing a highly beneficial, target-specific fungus to your crop management program to biologically outcompete destructive plant pathogens without disrupting the surrounding ecosystem.

Environmental compatibility data

Eco-77® is EcoCert certified (suitable for EU and NOP organic farming regulations) and carries no withholding period or Maximum Residue Limits (MRL), making it completely safe for organic growing programs, beneficial insects (like bees, ladybirds, wasps, and lacewings), and non-target organisms (earthworms, birds, and fish). Because of its highly specific biological action, it targets only target plant pathogens, ensuring zero chemical residues and making it an exceptional tool for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and disease resistance management programs.

Benefits

  • Target-Specific Protection: Highly effective for protecting pruning wounds against Eutypa and suppressing Botrytis on grapes, tomatoes, cucumbers, and other crops.

  • Persistent Barrier Control: Rapidly colonizes wound surfaces to provide long-term preventative control (surviving on grape pruning wounds up to a year after application).

  • Zero Withholding Period: Crops can be harvested immediately after application with no MRL limits, offering complete flexibility during harvest.

  • Biological Solution: Provides a unique biological mode of action compared to synthetic chemical fungicides.

  • Ecosystem Friendly: Completely safe for applicators, consumers, beneficial predatory insects, bees, soil organisms, and aquatic life.

How to use

Dosage & Application Instructions

  • Standard Dosage (Foliar/Cover Spray): Mix 1 g per 2 L of water (50 g per 100 L water) and apply to obtain full foliage cover.

  • Grape Pruning Wounds (Eutypa): Mix 1 g per 2 L of water (50 g per 100 L) and apply as a directed spray onto each pruning wound immediately after pruning.

  • Tomatoes & Cucumbers (Botrytis): Mix 1 g per 2 L of water (or 250–500 g/ha) and apply as a full cover spray when disease is first noticed; repeat as needed.

  • Table & Wine Grapes (Botrytis): Apply 250–500 g/ha. First application at full flowering, repeat at pea-berry, veraison, and 7 days pre-harvest.

  • Onions (Botrytis): Apply 250–500 g/ha. First application at onset of bulbing, repeat at onset of leaf fall subject to disease incidence.
